Author Robin Kring

sleuthing and writing stories of yesteryear, mystery, and intrigue

   Author of 10 books, over 100 magazine articles, and numerous print and online publications, Kring's writings have covered a wide array of genres and subjects, including books on thematic event-marketing, local Colorado & Brighton history books and on-line web blogs; corporate theatre scripts; technical instrumentation manuals; training programs; and business and non-profit promotional writing.

Robin Kring, recipient of  the Brighton Cultural Arts "Master of Literary Arts" 2024 Excellence in Arts Award, is the author of 10 books, over 100 magazine articles, and numerous print and online publications. Specializing in thematic design marketing to enhance organizational goals and metrics inspired her first book. Her series of books, publications, and scriptwriting on event marketing followed and have sold worldwide (including Japan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and Australia) to professional event planners representing the likes of Disneyland Hotel, MGM Grand, Harvard Business School, NBC, and TV Guide. Her Party Creations Book of Event Design was used as a textbook supplement in George Washington University's Professional Certificate in Event Management program and California junior colleges. It was nominated for the Esprit Award of the International Special Events Society for “Best Industry Contribution” in 1995. 

        Passionate about the small Colorado town she now calls home with her husband, Kring has spent recent years sleuthing and writing stories of the town’s characters and places of intrigue. She is a local history speaker, museum docent, and a frequent tour guide presenter. She enjoys writing and volunteering for the local museums, has served on the Brighton Historic Preservation Commission (two separate terms), and led the Colorado Preservation, Inc. Most Endangered Places Team for documenting and photographing the historic Brighton Great Western Sugar Factory. The Brighton Historic Preservation Commission (BHPC) awarded Kring the Historic Preservation Brick Award in Dec. 2023 in recognition of her efforts to encourage interest and preserve Brighton’s history and treasured places, helping to generate community pride and heritage.

        Kring served on the 2015 team to help write the Brighton Strategic Cultural Plan Team. She later served on the Brighton Cultural Arts Commission (BCAC) where wrote a Marketing Plan and help draft procedures. In 2023, Kring wrote the Background Histories for the BCAC mural “Historic Brighton at Founders Plaza" by Hans Joseph Geist and in 2024 she wrote the accompanying essays on the "Brighton's Women of Inspiration" mural by Frank Garza (66 S. Main St.). 
        Loving everything old from books to manners, Kring is fascinated with Victoriana and enjoys writing and speaking on the subject. Never meeting anything she didn’t like to write, Kring’s portfolio of publications has also included technical manuals for instrumentation operation and maintenance, “Miss Marple Wanna-Be” fiction, and home-study business courses.
